INSTRUCTIONS
A) Print on the glossy side of the paper. In general, selecting the transparency setting in your printer driver gives the best results. Our new IAS decal paper even works well with the new Epson photo printers, just select the transparency option. In general, let the ink dry for about 10 minutes or longer if the image has a lot of black areas. This is important to allow the clear spray or fixative to adhere well to the film.
Before sliding the decal off the paper using water you must seal the inkjet ink on the special coating by using Krylon Crystal Clear spray. If you do not use the fixative then once you place the decal in water the images will bleed off.
If using Krylon spray then follow the instructions on the spray can.
Applying the decal.
Cut out the image with scissors. Dip in warm water (not hot). The paper will roll up and then straighten out again.
When the film starts to loosen from the paper, place the paper on the substrate to be decorated, and then slide the paper from under the decal.
Work out any air bubbles with a decal squeegee and let dry. It is important to remove all water and air.
DO NOT cut out the decal first and then apply the solution, for the edges of the paper will absorb the liquid, making it impossible to later slide the decal off the paper.
| Step 1 Print off the decal paper using normal settings. You do not need a lot of ink for the paper to work. Once printed, leave to dry for fifteen minutes. |

| Step 2 Spray the paper with two to three coats of Acrylic spray varnish and leave it to dry between each coat. |

| Step 3 After you have sprayed your paper, cut out the designs with a craft knife or a pair of scissors. |

| Step 4 Place the cut-out decal in a bowl of water and leave for thirty seconds. |

| Step 5 After thirty seconds feel the decal with your fingers, the paper will start to separate, and slip away, it will now be ready to be positioned onto the candle |

| Step 6 Place the wet decal onto the surface of the candle and slowly slip off the backing paper, leaving the decorated decal paper on the candle. |

| Step 7 Dab the wet decal with a dry cloth and smooth it to get rid of all the air bubbles. You must smooth well here so you get rid of all the water under the decal paper. This will help the decal paper stick better. If all the water has not been removed there is a chance the decal will come off when dry. Leave the decal to dry for twenty-four hours. You can give the decal extra coats of acrylic spray for extra strength. You do not have to spray over candles or soap just leave the decal the way it is. |
